Laughing Ladies

Let's have a project together, reading funny books by funny women, and chatting about them. So far Kirsten and I have been thinking about:

Sarah Silverman
Chelsea Handler
Betty White
Tina Fey
Kathy Griffin

We were also interested in learning about/reading

Jane Curtain
Gilda Radner
Ruth Gordon
Joan Rivers
Carol Burnett

Shani, have you read Betty White's book yet? If so, do you recommend it?

  1. Yay! I can't wait. And just for fun I thought I'd post my favorite excerpt from Chelsea Handler's Are You There, God? It's Me, Chelsea:

“I rolled over and picked an US Weekly magazine off the floor. The cover had a picture of Angelina, Brad, and their little Eskimo son, Maddox. I sat staring at the photo, wondering why this little guy looks so pissed off in every picture. At first I thought he was just pissed about his mohawk, but then I realized he’s probably furious. Maddox must have thought he hit the jackpot when some A-list celebrity rescued him from third-world Cambodia, only to discover that she was going to shuffle him back and forth to every other third world country in the world. He’s probably like, “When the f*** are we gonna get to Malibu, b****?”

  2. This is really a great idea. We can all use a laugh!

I have already read BossyPants, but I have not read Betty White's book yet. Shall we get started with that? I like the idea of picking out favorite lines. We can start the book--and let's post something about our favorite line in the first 100 pages for starters?

    Rev up your Kindle engines!!
